Autumn Ayurvedic Spiced Millet Oats

With the start of Autumn and the colder months, my body is craving warmer and spicier foods to kick start my digestion and energy in the morning. The warm hue of turmeric even makes this bowl feel like you’re eating sunshine, with it’s additional nutritional benefits of beta-carotene, curcuma and vitamin C.

Start by placing one cup millet flakes or your most-loved oats in a small saucepan. Blend two cups of oat or coconut milk with one teaspoon of turmeric, one teaspoon of cinnamon, half a teaspoon of nutmeg, quarter teaspoon of fresh vanilla bean, one drop of DoTerra Wild Orange Oil and a pinch of black pepper. Once blended, add this to the pan and mix through the oats. Place on the stove on a low heat for five to ten minutes, depending on desired consistency.
